Particularly affected by the health crisis, nursing homes are given the responsibility of protecting their residents while keeping the families informed. A French group that manages several nursing homes is fitting its facilities with communications solutions up to the task.

Regular text messages to keep in touch with the families

The group’s nursing homes already communicate regularly with the families of residents by telephone and email, as well as via blogs and social media. But due to the health crisis, the group wanted to find a user-friendly solution to share information with a large number of people and at the same time reassure the families who are unable to visit the residents.

By sharing a video tutorial on ‘Sending text messages via Contact Everyone’ with the group's CIO, we convinced the group that it was an easy-to-use and effective way of communicating with families.

Ultimately the group opted for Contact Everyone by Orange Business, a 100% cloud-based solution that can be administered remotely and securely. From the solution’s web interface, the nursing home can send messages to all of its contacts in just a few clicks via email, voice message or, most importantly, text messages, since families of the elderly are predominantly mobile phone users. The messages can be centralized by the group, or sent locally by each individual nursing home.

“By sharing a video tutorial on ‘Sending text messages via Contact Everyone’ with the group's CIO, we convinced the group that it was an easy-to-use and effective way of communicating with families,” explains Raphael Tigier, Sales specialist in digital transformation at Orange Business. “Because the solution is fully cloud-based, we were able to install it remotely. The customer gained access to the platform in just two hours.”

Making remote collaboration among professionals easier

The group’s other need related to communication between professionals from different nursing homes who need to continue working together during the lockdown. Once again, the group called on Orange Business to set up a second solution: the Audio and Web Conferencing service, making it easier to hold regular meetings with staff from the various nursing homes without needing to travel anywhere. The Orange Business team rolled out the service in just five days. The group’s professionals can now hold interactive conferences with up to 300 participants using screen and document sharing features.
