A French luxury group opts for a managed hybrid cloud solution to expand its brands in international markets

Issues and challenges

With more than 150,000 employees, this French luxury group wanted to support the expansion of its brands in international markets. Whether for the implementation of its points of sale, the deployment of production systems in manufacturing plants or the management of supply chains, the group wanted a standardized, consolidated, scalable infrastructure in a hybrid cloud. It also wanted to work with a partner capable of managing multi-cloud solutions, including a private cloud and two public clouds (Flexible Engine and Microsoft Azure).

Solutions

To meet the customer's needs, we implemented a hybrid cloud solution:

  • A hyper-converged private cloud (Nutanix) to host the brands' information systems internationally in three geographic regions (Europe, North America, Asia)
  • A public cloud (Flexible Engine) to host the development and testing platforms in Singapore for Internet/intranet sites and apps

We also provided services for the management of private/public infrastructures, including a service guarantee covering the entire information processing chain and the Internet. Technical experts, or application leads, are assigned to the customer's sites to coordinate operations and liaise between customer teams and Orange production teams. The project is overseen from France.

Benefits

The hybrid cloud solution delivers more flexibility and scalability options for the management of services. The private and public clouds are managed centrally with the option to manage Microsoft Azure services. Additionally, Orange Business offers an end-to-end service level agreement. Local governance ensures customized service, and the customer is able to receive support in countries that have restrictive data management regulations.

Results

  • More flexible cloud management
  • Guaranteed quality of service
  • Customized support
