I am pleased to share the news about the appointment of Stefan Kanis as CEO of Orange Cloud for Business.
Stefan takes over from Philippe Laplane who created the entity five years ago. With a 21% growth in 2017, the entity is now the leading cloud computing service in France and is keen to become a renowned player worldwide.
Having graduated from the Mines Nantes engineering school in 1997, Stefan Kanis, 44, has gained 21 years of experience with the Orange Group. He previously held the position of operating director of network and services in France. He will report to Thierry Bonhomme, deputy CEO of Orange in charge of Orange Business. Stefan has a wealth of experience within the Group, both in the general public and corporate sectors. He directed a key accounts department where he contributed to the launch of IP TV in several subsidiaries.
Discussing the appointment, Thierry Bonhomme stated, “Telecoms operators manage the network that provides the basis of cloud computing. This puts us in the position to challenge the biggest players in the sector. Stefan will be able to use his solid experience with the network to make Orange Cloud for Business a leading cloud services operator and support the Group’s ambitious strategy on the market.”

We have some fine challenges and opportunities ahead of us. Orange Cloud for Business now counts 1,600 employees in France and abroad. Around the world, Orange Cloud for Business has built up a comprehensive range of services including consulting, facilities management, support, governance, and the supply and support of infrastructure, while remaining technology agnostic.
