Gulf region expects healthy IT spending growth rate

I saw this table that demonstrates a breakdown of spending in the UAE on IT. That's set to rise 9.1% year - driven largely by spending in the telecommunications sector.

Growth of a similar (7%) order is predicted by the organisers of the GITEX KSA IT show in Saudi Arabia which has published figures that predict the country, which has the largest IT market in the region will sustain a healthy growth rate in its IT sector, reaching a value of SAR 18.1 billion by 2013. That equates to a sustained compound annual growth rate of 7% between 2009 and 2013. Demand for solutions such as WiMAX and broadband internet, along with increased computer penetration are expected to drive the growth of the next few years. In addition, Saudi Arabia's per capita spend on IT is set to grow to around US$180 by 2013.
