Egypt infrastructure upgrade boosts TaskUs’ EMEA expansion

TaskUs was looking to establish a delivery center on a greenfield site in Egypt to support its expanding operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), providing outsourced digital services and next-generation customer experience (CX) to fast-growing tech companies.

As a result, it needed a reliable network infrastructure capable of rapidly onboarding the business without delays. It realized, however, that with its limited knowledge of the region, it required a trusted partner with in-depth insight into local regulatory, compliance and procurement requirements if it was to keep the project on track and avoid complex scenarios that could derail deadlines.

Networking expertise for rapid business onboarding

Immediate availability of enterprise-grade WAN and LAN infrastructure
Robust capabilities to meet global connectivity standards
A future-ready network to scale up without major infrastructure change

Fast access to enterprise-ready infrastructure to support growth

TaskUs is actively positioning itself as a strong player in outsourced customer experience and digital services in EMEA as part of its strategy to drive growth, market reach and regional influence in key international markets.

Technological efficiency is central to TaskUs and its business model. The Egypt site, pivotal to expansion plans, is a greenfield deployment where speed, compliance and reliability are of the essence. All are essential in scaling up tech-enabled operations effectively, supporting clients immediately and staying ahead of digital innovation.

As part of its digital transformation vision for the Egypt site, TaskUs required reliable internet access and LAN/WAN capabilities. Rapid deployment was essential.  allowing it to securely connect quickly to existing enterprise platforms and tools, minimizing business disruption and preventing workflow bottlenecks.

Navigating complex regional demands to a tight schedule

To avoid local holdups on the project, TaskUs turned to Orange Business, which has a proven track record of delivering complex projects in the region.

TaskUs was on a tight schedule and could not risk local challenges delaying the project or stalling operations. Hurdles include fragmented digital regulations, complicated import procedures and customs delays.

It needed a trusted connectivity partner urgently with deep knowledge of the region that could provide immediate availability of enterprise-grade WAN and LAN infrastructure to activate business quickly and seamlessly for 600-plus capacity.

In addition, the partner needed to meet global connectivity standards and possess Cisco expertise to ensure consistency with its global network architecture and support structure.

This seemed like an impossible ask. But it found exactly what it was looking for in a new partner in Orange Business, a global platform-driven network and digital integrator with extensive experience in the Middle East, a presence in Egypt and a longstanding Cisco Partner.

Orange Business also had a competitive advantage for the project, thanks to its proven experience in large-scale rollouts.  Combined with strong local execution capabilities, it satisfied all the requirements for TaskUs, who were looking to move ahead quickly.

TaskUs has a global mandate in purchasing Cisco components. As a Global Gold Partner of Cisco, Orange Business also has the capacity to order from Cisco in any part of the region and provide billing in local currency to its customers, making sales and procurement faster and easier.

TaskUs was impressed with the way Orange Business understood the urgency of the scope. It carried out extensive due diligence and rapid discovery and design workshops aligned with the TaskUs global strategy, which gave the multinational trust in its approach. It then drew up a plan for the greenfield site to deliver the solution in line with the multinational’s ambitious schedule.

At the same time, Orange Business maintained centralized project governance with clear milestones and transparent reporting so that TaskUs were continually updated on progress.

Delivering speed, compliance and reliability

Orange Business has opened the door to new possibilities for TaskUs in Egypt and the wider Middle East region by delivering a complex connectivity deployment and WAN transformation to deadline.

Orange Business has delivered managed solutions, encompassing Domestic Internet Access (DIA) and LAN transformation, incorporating Cisco and OpenGear components to enable WAN and LAN services, getting TaskUs’ business in Egypt up and running quickly.

Premium, high-performance and secure Domestic Internet Access (DIA) is provided with guaranteed bandwidth. The current provision is 1 Gbps. The connection, however, is delivered through a 10 Gbps. This ensures that when TaskUs needs higher bandwidth in the future, the service can be upgraded easily without a hardware upgrade.

Cisco provided a comprehensive suite of LAN and WAN networking capabilities, including hardware, software and security services. Opengear Out-of-Band Management provides secure access to primary network infrastructure, even when the network is down. It enables network administrators to manage equipment from anywhere, ensuring access even during significant WAN outages.

To meet the deadline, Orange Business engaged with Cisco and OpenGear early in the project to ensure alignment of technologies throughout. At the same time, it coordinated presales, sales and delivery teams to ensure fast approvals, timely procurement and structured execution.

The deployment has been designed to meet global standards, including dual-path diversity, a network resilience strategy that provides two physically independent paths between a source and its destination. If one path fails, traffic can be rerouted automatically. It is critical for high available uptime and continuity. This is accompanied by a robust Service Level Agreement (SLA).

The whole project was deployed remotely alongside an Orange Business-sourced feed on the ground through its local skills ecosystem. This latter was a huge advantage, as TaskUs did not need to fly in its own team of experts from the US.

Delivering a future-ready, scalable network to the deadline

Following the early presentation of a clear technical roadmap and execution plan, Orange Business has delivered a future-ready, scalable network infrastructure supporting TaskUs’ rapid business expansion with minimal upgrade timelines.

TaskUs now has a one-stop shop for connectivity, LAN local support and lifecycle management requirements, making upgrades, upscaling and budgeting easier.

TaskUs also has full regulatory confidence that the deployment is compliant with local Egyptian regulations through Orange Business’ regional expertise.

Orange Business is now looking to work closely with TaskUs on other technological advancements as its business grows in EMEA.
