Orange Business tops Global Provider Leaderboard for Business Ethernet services

with market-leading, end-to-end managed Business Ethernet services in 34 countries

Orange Business is the leading global provider of Business Ethernet Services for the second consecutive time, according to Vertical Systems Group’s Mid-2010 Global Provider Leaderboard. The Global Provider Leaderboard measures retail Ethernet ports installed at enterprise customer sites outside of a provider’s primary home country.

As businesses of all sizes become increasingly dependent on information to run their operations, the market for Ethernet Services to interconnect business sites and data centers is rising. Orange Business experienced a 42 percent growth in requests for quotation for very high Ethernet bandwidth in Europe, America and Asia between the first half of 2009 and the first half of 2010.

In response to the market’s expectations for scalability and simplicity of Ethernet Services, Orange Business has simplified its portfolio to two main offers:  Business Ethernet, the nation-wide offer in over 3,000 cities in France, and International Ethernet Link, the offer for large MNC customers in 33 countries outside of France.

The major benefits for enterprise customers from these Ethernet-based services are:

  • higher bandwidth capability with connections up to 1 Gbps;
  • release of new CPE allowing four classes of service, dynamic bandwidth reallocation, reporting per VLAN and per class of service;
  • best-in-class Ethernet infrastructure performance and SLAs;
  • evolutionary and more comprehensive connectivity: point-to-point, hub & spoke or any-to-any available in 10 countries;
  • seamless integration between Business Ethernet and International Ethernet Link; and
  • hybrid access in order to share the Ethernet local loop offer with IP VPN service.

“Orange Business expects continued growth in demand for Ethernet services,” said Nicolas Roy, Network Solutions Business Unit, Orange Business. “To meet our customers’ evolving needs, we are continually enhancing our offer and will extend VPLS and very high speed service with any-to-any capability to the U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore by the end of the year.”
