Due to the dynamic nature of Stolt-Nielsen’s business, flexibility, scalability and security are critical when it comes to connectivity, because it needs to keep its workforce connected 24/7 to track shipments around the globe. Its infrastructure must be robust and reliable to continuously look after its customer base. Any downtime can severely impact shipping plans, which has a knock-on effect on delivery times for its customers.

The multinational enterprise prides itself on being a trailblazer in technology. It was looking for a trusted partner to take it to the next level and optimize the security and performance of its global operations while supporting its expanding hybrid workforce. This included migrating from its former infrastructure and developing a phased SASE strategy.

Orange Business has a SASE product that really delivers everything we need. It’s reliable, secure, scalable and flexible. And above all, it’s cost-effective.

A SASE product that delivers on all its promises

Stolt-Nielsen was an early adopter of SD-WAN and wanted to move to the next generation of advanced technology with SASE. It was looking to replace its Internet providers and network solutions with one easy-to-manage, secure and cost-effective integrated service.

Orange Business provided a SASE solution combining SD-WAN connectivity with global Security Service Edge (SSE), a set of security tools within the SASE architecture.

Stolt-Nielsen’s move from a multi-vendor environment to a single, centralized solution enables the multinational to benefit from Orange SASE Advanced with a secure, flexible infrastructure built on the Orange Business Evolution Platform – and secured by Orange Cyberdefense. This combines a secure digital infrastructure with a cloud-like approach to ordering and managing services. Stolt-Nielsen can now access a catalog of products via a self-service console or an API using the platform.

Orange Business developed the fully-managed Orange SASE Advanced solution in partnership with Netskope. It ticks all the boxes for the multinational, providing enhanced global connectivity and consistent Internet security on and off the network. Netskope’s SSE infrastructure is located across more than 70 regions globally, directly plugging into the Orange network. This ensures data security can be managed centrally without affecting business productivity, while keeping Stolt-Nielsen’s people and the environment safe.

The next generation of advanced services

Stolt-Nielsen benefited from a very successful implementation and integration process with Orange Business, utilizing a small and dedicated team that quickly deployed globally.

As a pivotal part of its digital transformation, Orange Business provided Stot-Nielsen with a secure, centralized and future-proofed digital infrastructure that supports its business ambitions.
