Orange Business Services becomes the world’s first ISO 15408 certified operator for security of its international IP VPN

Paris, Dec. 05, 2008

certification exemplifies Orange Business Services' position as a standard-setting operator in terms of security solutions for multinational companies

Orange Business Services was officially awarded ISO 15408 certification for its international IP VPN by the DCSSI (the French Central Information Systems Security Division), a part of the SGDN (French Defense General Secretary).

This certification covers the security of tools and processes implemented for the Orange Business Services international IP VPN, including production, administration and supervision.

As a key security factor, anticipation and managing network vulnerability are included within the measures certified by the DCSSI. Orange Business Services is committed to maintaining an adapted and very high level of security.

The certification was a three-step process:
- definition of target security with the DCSSI to establish the scope of the solution to be assessed;
- implementation of internal work to meet DCSSI security requirements according to the ISO 15408 international standard; and
- verification by the DCSSI that network services comply, by means of an analysis of security functions and measures by the CESTI (French Security Evaluation Center for Information Technologies), an in-the-field audit of Orange Business Services teams and onsite intrusion tests.

This latest award consolidates the position achieved by Orange Business Services as a standard-setting operator in network service security.
