what’s new? IPVPN Protected

issue 2 - November 2007

business challenge

It is becoming increasingly difficult to manage global VPN security at branch and remote sites. A wide variety of users, including mobile employees, home workers, customers and business partners, want to connect to the network in an increasing number of ways. Additionally, data traffic is increasing in both volume and importance, and regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, Basel II require that it is all traceable. The resources to cope with these complex security demands simply don’t exist in many smaller and remote sites

our solution

IPVPN Protected provides an integrated front line defense for branch sites. It includes a firewall with flexible filtering rules, which you can define per site or globally,
and intrusion prevention that  monitors the ingress and egress, and blocks traffic matching one of the loaded attack signatures.

our approach

Both services of IPVPN Protected use the Cisco ISR’s (Integrated Service Router) inbuilt functionality, and do not require any additional equipment or resources. It is offered as an extension of our managed network services for IP VPN, Internet Direct and Small Office Solutions (DSL services).

the result

IPVPN Protected enhances site security; the combination of intrusion detection and firewall is integrated into your router and managed by Orange Business operational teams. No additional devices or appliances are needed, which avoids the hassle of deploying a new equipment.

business benefits

IPVPN Protected gives you the confidence that all your sites are secure, whatever their location or size. Because IPVPN Protected is an extension of our managed service, there is no need for you to manage or monitor your distributed sites. This allows you to easily secure sites in remote locations or those which are very expensive to staff.
