Orange Business Services designed a solution with an on-board appliance that
integrates a Global Positioning System (GPS) and a GPRS modem to send location
information every 15 minutes to a hosted server. The 'plug and play' appliance
has been specially designed for the lorries chartered by GEFCO and the removable
tool can be connected to the cigarette lighter.

The solution has three key benefits. Firstly, no upfront investment or implementation
fees were required and the M2M solution is priced at a fixed monthly charge per
appliance. Secondly, GEFCO is able to minimize missing deliveries as they can
now accurately track each delivery. And finally the solution allows GEFCO to optimize
its business and create even greater efficiences. Thanks to GPS positioning, GEFCO
can change any shipment's route at any time, in order to meet new customer requirements
