Global pharmaceutical and research giant Pfizer selected Orange to tackle slow network performance that was negatively impacting employee productivity, hardware maintenance and IT personnel costs. Orange deployed close to 300 Riverbed Steelhead appliances to multiple global locations in a short timeframe. Engineers set to work in each location to support hardware maintenance and office relocations, and a centralized change management system was implemented so that any configuration change could be executed on up to 50 devices at one time.

The rapid roll-out was delivered on time and on budget, accelerating cost savings. Benefits to employee productivity were staggering, with Outlook address book downloads reduced from 30 minutes to 2. In addition, the outsourcing of deployment through maintenance has enabled staff to focus on key strategic tasks.
