The Russian division of Orange Business Services is one of Russia’s leading telecommunications companies and provides comprehensive solutions for its corporate customers. We own and manage our own telecom network with coverage in major cities both in Russia and the CIS. Orange Business Services is the only international operator in Russia with a strong market presence and a long distance license.
Today, we have offices in 38 major Russian cities as well as offices in three CIS countries (Kiev, Ukraine; Almaty, Kazakhstan and Minsk, Belarus). We have 1,000 employees in Russia and over 4,000 clients.
our history
- our presence in Russia comes from two different historical situations:
- SITA has been present since the 1950s and their network was incorporated into the Equant/Global One network after the merger in 2001 through a LNO transfer
- Sprint created a partnership with Central Telegraph in 1990 and added it to the Global One joint venture, which eventually was merged with Equant
- in 2002 Global One, SITA, Equant JV and Equant merged into Equant Russia
- in 2005 France Telecom purchased 100% of Equant’s shares
- since Oct. 10, 2006 Equant LLC (legal entity) has operated under the brand Orange Business Services in Russia

With a well-developed infrastructure and a wide range of licenses, Orange Business Services has complete offering of services in each Russian region. Our infrastructure in Russia is part of a global network that includes 220 countries and territories. Within Russia, our infrastructure has
- a backbone network from Moscow to Saint-Peterburg, Privolzhsky and Uralsky Federal regions
- international backbone capacity over 8 Gbit/sec
- 5,000 kilometers of city access networks
- over 900 satellite access points
- local and regional PSTN networks, domestic and international long-distance circuit-switched network
technical support
Technical support is provided for all Orange services. Local technical teams support our customers in all countries where the company operates. Orange provides network monitoring and management with our Russian Network Management Center, located in Moscow.
