Orange Business Services appoints Richard van Wageningen as head of Orange in Russia and CIS. Mr. van Wageningen replaces Christophe Joanblanq who will take another role with global responsibility at Orange Business Services.
The appointment of Richard van Wageningen further supports the integration of Orange Russia into the European and global structure of the company, which began in 2013. In his new role Mr. van Wageningen will continue focusing on further increasing the company’s revenues from core telecommunications services and IT solutions targeting medium to large Russian companies as well as multinational businesses conducting and expanding their business in Russia.
Richard van Wageningen brings extensive leadership experience in IT and telecommunications industry – both with the services and equipment manufacturing companies. Having started his career with AT&T in Russia. Richard assumed leading positions in Lucent Technologies in Saudi Arabia, Portugal and the Netherlands. Richard returned to Russia in 2005 to head the Russian operations of British Telecom. Since 2010, Richard van Wageningen led Linxdatacenter in Russia as CEO.
Mr. van Wageningen has a bachelor's degree from Groningen Polytechnic, the Netherlands, where he majored in economics and electronics. In 2000 he graduated from the executive program at the University of North Carolina, USA. Richard has lived in Russia for 8 years and speaks fluent Russian.
