Orange Business Services launches ITIL®-based Service Select

Paris, July 18, 2007

Customers gain access to more flexible customer care options and new support services

Orange Business Services has launched Service Select, a full suite of customer care services based on ITIL® best practices. The new offer provides multinational customers the unique level of service management support services they need to effectively and efficiently manage their complex communications infrastructures.

"Orange Business Services has very publicly put a stake in the ground regarding its service management strategy,” said Camille Mendler, vice president of Enterprise Research, Yankee Group. “It is making a clear commitment to customers about using best practices in IT governance to deliver and manage services."

ITIL® (IT Infrastructure Library) is the global standard in process methodology for the delivery of quality IT services. According to the Yankee Group’s 2007 Managed IT and Communications Services survey of large enterprises:  “ITIL® competence has become a key supplier selection criteria for managed IT and communications services among large enterprises in key markets."

Responding to this trend, Orange Business Services created Service Select, aligned with the ITIL® service management categories of Service Delivery and Service Support. Service Select provides greater flexibility and new support services in addition to repackaging our proven, customer care tools and processes. Customers can choose from three service levels – standard, extended and customized – to create a unique solution based on their key business objectives. Service Select supports our customers by:
  • improving quality of processes, delivery and production from IT operations;
  • enabling delivery of established service levels to all users regardless of location;
  • facilitating customers’ evolution to a more consistent, proactive and adaptive organization;
  • complementing customers’ service management capabilities to better align their business and ICT objectives.

We have customer-friendly, highly-trained teams that form the foundation of Service Select. Our ITIL® consultants help customers design and customize their service management solutions. And, our service desk and service management experts use best practices to deliver and support our customers’ operational environments.
Orange Business Services is ready to partner with customers and use ITIL® best practices to create value and drive consistent, predictable performance. Using this approach, we share a common language with our customers and are aligned with their processes, terminology and approach.

"ITIL® can be viewed as a Rosetta stone between the language of service providers and enterprises:  It can clarify uncertainties in service level commitments and help enterprises achieve their business goals with lower risk when working with external suppliers," said Mendler.
