Orange Business Services’ IP VPN Connections Increase by more than 30 percent in 2006

Paris, Jan. 25, 2007

At the end of 2006, Orange Business Services solidified its leadership position by managing more than 260,000 MPLS-based IP VPN customer sites in 146 countries. Our success in 2006 was a result of large MPLS VPN deals and rapid customer adoption of DSL as a part of a well integrated Small Office Solutions package. Of the managed sites, 50,000 connections were outside France and 170,000 customer sites were connected via DSL.

Our MPLS VPN was the first of its kind launched in 1999. Since that time, we have experienced rapid growth with a year over year connection volume increase by more than 30 percent (2006 vs 2005).  Today, Orange Business Services manages over 23,000 MPLS VPN customer networks through 1,100 points of presence in 149 countries and provides service in 220 countries and territories.

“We look forward to a very successful 2007,” said Jacques Demael, head of Global Communications Solutions, Orange Business Services. “We are pleased with our MPLS VPN leadership position and will continually improve our adaptive network offers to meet our customers’ increasingly sophisticated needs while helping transform business processes and improve productivity through converged offers.”
