Extends contract to five years with an additional $1.9 million order
HOPPE extends its contract with Orange Business Services to five years with a $1.9 million order for a 12-site, homogenous MPLS-based network.
HOPPE is the European market leader in the development, manufacturing and marketing of door and window hardware. The new IP network connects HOPPE headquarters in Müstair, Switzerland, to the following markets: Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.
The existing network was redesigned and migrated to a homogenous MPLS-based network. One of the benefits of this solution is higher bandwidth. The new MPLS-based network guarantees any-to-any connectivity for all HOPPE’s global sites. HOPPE’s new infrastructure enables efficient information flow related to several business-critical functions, such as: design creation, manufacturing, pricing, marketing, logistics and ordering. In addition, the network enables just-in-time production and planning, including CoS and QoS for mission-critical applications. Furthermore, it allows HOPPE to integrate new sites and units as well as new companies in the future.
Moreover, HOPPE signed a Master Service Agreement with Orange Business Services. This agreement includes a minimum revenue guarantee and standard service descriptions. Future new services can easily be added.
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with Orange Business Services and to future-proof our network,” said Gerhard Kapeller, head of IT-Infrastructure. “By implementing an MPLS-based IP VPN, HOPPE’s infrastructure is ready for any future strategies, whether it be adding new sites or implementing a voice over IP solution.”
“Migration to a homogenous MPLS-based network is significant for HOPPE’s daily and future business,” said Serge Adam, vice president and managing director of Orange Business Services Switzerland. “Flexibility and efficiency as well as stability are clearly raised with the new infrastructure. At Orange Business Services, we say that wherever our customers want to go, we are already there. So, we are ready to support HOPPE as it grows.”
HOPPE is the market leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of hardware for doors and windows in Europe. HOPPE’s key area of competence lies in the large-scale production of high quality hardware at an optimum price/benefit-ratio. Approximately 3,000 employees in nine plants in Europe and in the United States as well as in worldwide distribution work for the HOPPE Group.
