Telecommunications is not a polluting activity by nature; rather it forms part of the range of solutions that can help us address climate change and contribute to social development.

Our responsible growth approach is based on the search for a fair balance between economic competitiveness, social progress and environmental preservation. It also assumes an aptitude for managing the occasionally numerous contradictions between the various parties involved and results in commitments that contribute to a policy of responsible growth year after year.

Orange is committed to:

  • reducing its own ecological and climatic footprint by developing innovative, low-energy products and services that can be recycled (eco-design) and accessed by the widest possible audience

  • helping its clients with their own sustainable development actions

  • the World Union Alliance: union organizations that are members of the Union Network International develop a social policy that respects basic social rights and individual freedoms

  • Mobile Phone Partnership Initiative: a partnership between industry players to ensure ecological management of mobile telephony

  • ETSI: standards body
