Green IT is at the heart of our strategy and we support our customers’ transition into sustainable business
Our
environmental policy is two-fold. We lead by example by reducing our own environmental impact through a continually improved
performance, and we develop and launch products and services that contribute to environmental protection, particularly in
the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
“A lot of entrepreneurs hope to reconcile economic performance with environmental protection,” explains Philippe Eon,
Marketing Director for Major Accounts at Orange Business Services.
Sustainable development was first defined in 1987 as “development that meets the needs of the current generation without compromising the capacity of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Major efforts are currently underway to reduce the environmental impact of the new technologies industry. Their main advocates are public authorities and the manufacturers themselves.
By implementing Green IT solutions, companies can meet both economic and environmental challenges.
To adopt a Green IT approach, a company must first assess the environmental footprint left by the services and equipment of its information systems.
The Kyoto Protocol aims to reduce the production of greenhouse gases, in particular CO2.
