Mobile Device Management 6

Mobile Device Management

business challenge

Enterprises have recognized that mobile communications makes them competitive by giving them the ability to collect, integrate, secure, analyze and distribute business-critical information to end users in any location.
While early mobility deployments typically focused on allowing nomadic workers to access their email and contact information, today’s mobile workers are clamoring for much more. They want access to business-critical applications and corporate data that was previously available only within the hardened walls of their companies.
In order to move to this next level, IT departments need to tighten their mobile strategy and protect sensitive data by implementing technology to help monitor and manage mobile devices in the field, including security, configuration and software updates.

our solution

Our Mobile Device Management solution helps IT departments achieve control over their mobile estate by providing a central Web-based console that enables device monitoring, configuration enforcement, application updates, patch management and over-the-air encryption. The solution also includes powerful process automation and content distribution capabilities. It will be available internationally for a large range of operating systems, including: Windows Mobile, Symbian, iPhone/iPad, BlackBerry, Java and Android (available soon).

our approach

Mobile Device Management is based on market-leading software from Sybase. The service is currently in pilot phase with a few customers, and the official product release is scheduled for H2 2010. It is available now for enterprises looking to test the solution as a proof of concept. We will offer it as a fully managed software-as-aservice (SaaS) with three tiered levels of functionality:
  • standard pack: includes asset database and configuration
  • security pack: also includes security features (firewall and anti virus)
  • premium pack: also includes remote control and content distribution

the result

By deploying Mobile Device Management, you will be able to control your entire fleet of mobile devices, guarantee the quality of service provided to all end users and ensure the security of your company’s information. Because the solution is delivered as a SaaS, you need no initial hardware investment, and it is available immediately without a long deployment time. It is also easily scalable and, with our network infrastructure, we are able to deliver the greatest possible availability.
