During February's World Mobile Congress, Orange Spain chief executive Jean Marc Vignolles announced that Orange was launching a fiber optic pilot in Catalonia in 2008. The pilot will cover a few thousand users – private and corporate – and will feature advanced services such as access to high speed Internet with speeds of up to 100Mbps, high definition TV channels, and the possibility to watch television via an IP address on various devices simultaneously. Orange will also launch a similar pilot in Madrid.
