2 l 6 steps to developing and implementing a Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
step 1 -
Business Impact Analysis:
180 Business Impact Analysis questionnaires were completed by every operational
area of Orange Business Services, addressing all risks related to influenza pandemic
situations.
step 2 - outputs from the Business Impact Analysis :
Business Impact Analysis was reviewed by the Business Continuity Plan team
and ranked against three criteria:
- interruption to customer activity;
- legal, regulatory or compliance issues;
- operational difficulties. Each Business Impact Analysis was given an overall ranking and a score from 1 being high
impact to 5 being
low impact.
step 3 - Recovery Strategies :
all scored Business Impact Analysis have been used to prepare our Recovery Strategy.
step 4 - support for Recovery Strategies:
this stage ensures that all parts of Orange Business Services are fully aware
of the requirements that will be placed on them, including resources and staff,
to proactively prepare the implementation of the Recovery Strategies.
step 5 - formation of Crisis Management Plans:
every area within Orange Business Services has developed a Crisis Management
Plan that feeds into the overall Crisis Management Plan for Orange Business Services
and dovetails with the Plan for the backbone Network Operation.
step 6 - testing and training:
Recovery Strategies have been tested where it is possible to do so without impact
to our customers. Any need for additional training is being assessed. Critical
suppliers have been sent questionnaires regarding their own Business Continuity
Plan and these plans are linked closely with ours, as needed.
